[For the past week, Gon has not shown up to work. This is extremely unusual. He's always on time and never calls out of a shift. If anyone happens to try to contact him through his palm reader, they will find that the message appears to go through, but there is no answer from Gon.
A couple of days into his disappearance, Rin may overhear some whispers from the Mongrels who visit the Spectrum. Something about a young man involved in a scary incident in the street.
More info will surface, should he choose to investigate. If not, he'll remain missing and silent.]
[ooc; Gon's involved in a player/mod plot! If you like, Rin can remain uninvolved and he'll return to work within the week.]
Okumura-kun, I'm sorry for bothering you like this ... The thing is, there's a really strange video I got. We're on it together, but I don't remember playing any games with you at all. Do you know anything about it? Maybe you saw it too?
[Clearly Rin chose a bad day to be out of the house. Suddenly he'll hear his palm reader going off, getting a number of text messages in quick succession. They'll be arriving so quickly, that he'll be getting about three of them before he can even pull the thing out to check.]
[A strange message appears in Rin's inbox today. The sender is unknown -- some random palm reader with a jumble of letters for a name. But the sender isn't important: it's what they send him.]
[...by all means, the link sounds like some weird porno. But should he be curious enough to click it, it takes him to a webpage with a link of that very scene, clearly recorded from a distance. Arietta and Killua both yelling and crying and looking upset, Arietta looking as though she just finished a rather nasty fight--]
[And then she starts to scream, gripping her collar as if in agony, and writhing on the ground. Liger, in his wolf form, frets over her before looking over at the camera. And seconds after that, Killua seems to disappear on the film.]
[But it's not a very long clip. After a minute, the sound of the cameraman screaming can be heard before it suddenly ends.]
[The video is posted on a public site, and has already raked up thousands of views. There's a field for tagging the "actors" listed, and while there's nothing for Killua, there seem to be quite a few hits for Arietta, listed under the name "pink kitten".]
[ ooc: this is an invite to a top level in Gokudera's March catch-call where he blows himself up. This is literally going to everyone I ever remember him having a single thread with! Also... Arietta already responded so... not sure if you want to just like, hop in after her or have it be a separate inbox conversation before she shows up.]
Help. I blew myself up.
No wait, scratch that comment about what happened. Just say "help" okay? Send.
[Shima holds the camera away from himself, only showing a random busy street in Midas for the moment. Then he reaches into the frame and waves, as if giving Rin time to prepare himself.] Yo, Okumura-kun! Don't freak out, okay? [Finally turning the camera so he's actually in the frame now, waving again.] Ya miss me?
[Grins and scratches his head a bit awkwardly, checking himself in the self-view before looking back at the camera] Anyway, I heard some crazy stuff happened a while ago, so I figured I'd warn ya I'm around. Call me back when ya've calmed down, huh. [He's assuming Rin isn't calm.] No reason not ta catch up, right? I know a spot, so just hit me up! [Dorky finger gun before he stops the recording]
[There is perhaps a noticeable lack of detail, nothing about what he's actually heard or where to meet. Shima figures better to stay vague on these government devices, but it might register differently for Rin.]
Edited (don't mind the edit, just wanted to code it properly now that I'm not phone-tagging) 2017-03-15 03:12 (UTC)
Do forgive the rather unsettling question, but you haven't experienced any loss of time lately, have you? Any black outs or situations where you don't recall where you were or what you were doing?
SURPRISE E-MAIL!
Why does my e-mail look so weird?
[Translation: WHY CAN'T I HAVE A COOL USERNAME LIKE YOURS!]
[Ooc: Let's say this happened somewhere in February before the festivities?]
I AM SURPRISED and yeah that makes sense for timing
