Mostly texting for the sake of keeping him company and to get all angles of the story... even though she knows ultimately this is going to boil down to Samus apologizing, paying his bail, swinging the Hero Elite status she never wanted and forgetting this ever happened. She's sure this Cassy will understand. It was just the shitty caste system at work.]

How did the misunderstanding [and she's generously assuming this is all a misunderstanding being portrayed by the police as no small bias against the mongrel and in favor of the elite, no matter the altercation] happen?
