[ Because his house just vanished. So did the pool There's just a grassy field with a tree in the middle of it. Shiemi was out somewhere and now it's just him and Skarmy, Shiemi's seven foot tall murderbird of steel. Her and Rin loo confused at each other. And then Skarmy squawks at him before making to fly off. Rin ends up flipping her the bird before going to collect Midori the turtle and go off to look all over down for where his house just vanished to ]

Think it was the third or the fourth day. [He knits his brows.] We met up with her an' she patched me up in one of the buildings 'cause we thought it'd be safer there, y'know? I blocked the door with a chair so we were workin' on gettin' out through the window but then these guys heard us an' bashed their way in.

I don' know. She was hidin' under the desk an' I broke a chair over a cultist's head. But there was six of 'em closing in an' then, iunno, I jus'... [He shakes his head incredulously] ...I can't remember nothin'.

Yeah. The worst part is, when I woke up, I wasn't even in the building no more. Ain't sure where I ended up but I was outside [--bodies everywhere--] an' I couldn't move or breathe right. I was real lucky Steve found me when he did. [His eyes darken as memories roll over him and guilt sinks in deeper.] Ain't seen Pils since.

[ What... does one even say to that. He frowns to himself at this, and then tries to thin of a reply. He tries to pretend he's not thinking that himself a little, and that he's any more in control of his emotions than this guy. But... ]
