[ Action ]

[ If any of you have gone to the Battle Dome since it opened up again after the event with six new rooms (and let's face it, a bunch of you probably have) you've probably seen Rin in there. Or Silver. Actually, both of them. You see, the both of them have been training incessantly for the last month (though even more so since they were all but assured a constant room via the expansion) in preparation for a match that Rin's due to have at the end of the month. As such, much of their training has been around a field Rin actually is familiar with and, after this month, he's pretty sure he's not cut out for: Pokémon training.

A chance encounter with Lance a while back led to the challenge due to come at the end of this month, and Rin's been working with Silver and Skarmy to try to get Rin and Skarmy to function as a proper team. It's been rough going - Rin has been distractible, Skarmy's been fairly resistant (and also distractible) and Silver has been short on sleep. Still, you might witness them are many hours the day practicing battles, commands... ... lighting things on (blue) fire? No, that last one is just Rin dicking around. But when he see him doing that you might also see Silver hitting him with a newspaper or comic book he's got rolled up to do it with, or in extreme cases, soaking him with a blast of water from his buddy Feraligatr.

Because they are at the Battle Dome so much (going so far as to pitch a tent in a simulation of a forest in one of the rooms, some nights, literally camping out in there) you can see them doing any number of things, including, but not limited to: what's described above!, watching the stars in a simulation of the Viridian Forest or on a mountain of simulated Sneasels, Rin programming in some demons from home (including but not limited to Reapers, Amaimon, Phantom Trains, and hobgoblins), the two of them going out to get snacks from the vending machines, the two of them going to the bathroom in turns in the Med Center's bathroom to wash their faces, the two of them importing more food, and other whacky antics we can fill in if you want to just run into them doing goofy stuff. Possibly Rin trying to book-study for the school mentioned below

Additionally, Silver and Rin do have responsibilities outside of training. While Rin compromises with Silver to miss half his days of school in the week, he does go out to do half of them (though he can't help but find it a little pointless, it feels disrespectful to Shiemi and Yukio not go at all), and works shifts at Seventh Heaven. In all places, the guy looks increasingly haggard and tired, and not just from over-working himself. When he does get to sleep, he's not sleeping nearly as much as he'd like. So you might also see him nodding off on a bench or something ]

[ OOC: This is a joint post with Silver (

feistytrader). The Battle Dome parts, that is - threads there will be three ways with Rin, Silver, and your character unless otherwise requested. The portions outside the Dome will be just Rin though if you'd rather go there. Have at! ]

[Jean had been in the middle of a training simulation, sharpening his skills with the 3D maneuver gear, when...well, nature called. Not wanting to waste the last twenty minutes of the simulation he'd set up, he soldiers through the growing discomfort - just because the Battle Dome grew a few new rooms, it doesn't mean someone won't hijack the one he's using if he leaves.

This might have been a mistake. By the time he's done, he's not running to the toilet, really, just...walking rather forcefully, fists pumping at his sides. When he turns the corner to see Rin waiting there, his expression falls to one of dismay, and he groans.]

There's a line? [Why this. Why now. He fidgets in a more subtle, nuanced version of the potty dance.]

[Oh hey look, your friendly neighborhood Weavile is here too! What's up, Jean.

Weavile is helpful enough to make out the motions of washing a face to indicate what exactly Silver's doing in there. That's right, your bathroom use isn't even being held up by important bathroom use.]

[He'd thought that maybe Weavile was saving Silver a spot in line, but as soon as the Pokemon indicates that his trainer is already in the bathroom, and wasting the opportunity with something like washing his face, Jean strides past him to push in the door.]

I'm coming in! I gotta piss like a cart horse!

[...Uh.

Well then. If that's how you really feel, Jean...]

Go ahead. [Silver only briefly stops to look at him before continuing to wash his face off. The water's nice and cool and refreshing...]

[He wasn't going to wait for permission. Once he's oh so graciously announced himself, he's heading straight for the toilet in the corner, already yanking at the straps of his harness to loosen it up enough that he can do what he's gotta do, the sheathes and gas canisters of his gear clanging at his sides.

...

...

...

...Ahh.

His shoulders sag in relief once he's done. Shake off, flush, zip up, and re-adjust his harness. Then he's hovering behind Silver, waiting for an opening to wash his hands. He's not gross.]

[Hope that was relieving enough to be worth it, Jean. Silver backs off of the sink pretty shortly afterwards- he's had enough cold water splashed into his face that his collar is soaked, so it's probably time to stop.]

All yours.

[Look, military life has beaten the modesty out of him when it comes to this sort of thing. When Silver relinquishes the sink, Jean will step in and start lathering his hands up under the faucet. He throws a look over his shoulder.]

What are you doing washing your face in here anyway?

It's hot. [It's not hot, Silver-] We've been training for hours. I'd ask Feraligatr to soak me, but he's exhausted.

[So he went to the nearest source of water.]

I guess simulated water ain't exactly the same, huh. [He turns off the faucet and shakes his hands dry-ish before turning to pull the door open.]

You haven't been here all day, have you? Do you still remember what the outside world looks like?

Of course I do. I'd have to be in here for years to forget that.

[Silver, that's... That's not the point...]

[...Silver. Please.] Better question, do you know the definition of a joke?

[Now back in the hallway, Weavile is waiting there for them.]

Hey Silver, how long does it take to take a piss?

[ This is from Rin. Who is shirtless and by a vending machine over here looking for what seems like a decent breakfast ]

[Rock Lee has been in the Dome a lot as well, especially after Sakura and Neji left. He still managed to curb it enough to not be as self-destructive as his initial training spree, but it's still where he spends most of his time.

After all, Gai-Sensei and the others didn't spend a lot of time at the Battle Dome. Their ghosts may not roam here.

It's getting late, but Lee gets impressed by the starry sky he sees through one observation window. So he heads to the door and softly knocks on it.]

[ Rin is the one who answers the door... who is shirtless and ha shorts on, and looks a little tired as he opens the door to the thing. He forgot there's a viewing window. But hey. Oh- ]

Awww- Lee. Hey. Ain't it late?

[ It's morning. Outside. ]

[It's morning, but last night was a dreamless night, and Silver really just wanted a little more sleep...

But Lee's already knocked, he's already awake, and the only way he can protest to either of these things is by refusing to actually open his eyes and get up. It's a good thing that Rin's the one opening the door.

Weavile, on the other hand, goes straight over to greet Lee. Sup, dude?]

[After seeing a number of odd things going on around the village, it really shouldn't surprise Albert to see someone falling asleep; some of the effects going on seemed likely to interrupt sleep schedules.

...Of course, that would be a pretty large assumption, when he knows Rin is in charge of a restaurant, too.

He stands to one side of the bench, Rune sleepily perched on his shoulder as he glances from the dozing young man to the gathering clouds and then back again.]

Looks like another storm is moving in.

Sssaa... sa wha. [ Well that was incoherent gibberish. Rin's mostly asleep, but (as usual) his eyes are still open. Rin somewhat eerily sleeps with his eyes open, though because he's only mostly asleep they're sort of half closed and perhaps a bit crusty. He's clearly not too deep into it right now, though ]

[Albert makes a faint, wry sound at the response, wondering for a moment just how deeply the young man could sleep in better conditions. He dismisses the thought before long, clearing his throat before speaking again.]

Are you intending to sleep through the rain?

[Maybe he'll have Rune land on him if words don't rouse him.]

No...? No, 'm not.

[ And he squirms a bit more, but he's not getting up yet. He's not actually awake yet. ... He can be a deep sleeper ]

[...

Albert waits a moment, continuing to watch Rin to see if he will move more to confirm that he was in actuality awake. When that doesn't happen, he moves his shoulder and glances at the owl lazily watching the situation. The tiny raptor promptly flaps its wings enough to glide over the short distance between the two males.

With every intention to attack Rin's shirt and collar.]

[ !!!

!!! ]

Hey-- eh! [ And now he's up. He's trying to swat at the owl, trying to get it off him. He's awake now, at least, but not very awake - just awake enough to try and get away from it ]

[Today is the day, and Lance has arrived early to make sure he's ready and to greet Rin and Silver when they arrive. He's at their designated meeting place, standing there with his arms folded and his cape billowing in the breeze. The picture of confidence. Of a Champion. A Dragon Master!

In front of him sits Altaria. The dragon bird content with cheerfully preening his fluffy white wings as they wait.

While Rin and Silver have been training hard, Lance hasn't slacked on his training either. They're ready for this, and whatever the outcome may be, they both know that they will have done their best. But really... can a novice like Rin really hope to beat a seasoned trainer like Lance?]

[ Probably not, no. But like Rin said, the plan was never really to beat the guy, just prove that he's legit and Skarmy's even more legit - that she can manage things even with someone less competent like him. That said, the boy with the tail isn't looking confident so much as just tired. He's making it to the spot though... ]

'Ey.

[Well that's kind of strange. Usually challengers do come in looking confident, but Rin looks like he's about to fall over.]

Hey... uh. Are you all right?

[Was he up training all night or something? There's nothing wrong with preparation but... isn't that a bit much?]

[The day's finally come. You know, that day they've been training day in and day out for. Rin's probably not going to win, but he doesn't really have to- as long as he's connected to Skarmy and proves that he can be a competent trainer, that should be enough. If it isn't, hopefully he can talk Rin down from saying or doing anything too stupid.

...And no matter what, they can go rest for a while when they're finished here. Silver lets out a short yawn, but otherwise keeps quiet and sticks behind Rin. Weavile's around too, of course- and he's substantially more bright eyed and busy tailed than either of them.]

[ You know, a sensible person might have just let that go and sort of ... hang out and play it cool. Rin does not play it cool. ]

Shut up! I'm doing just fine!

[ In fact, he flips him off.

... And Skarmy just bird laughs at this ]
