Hey guys, guys! I managed to work out a new attack up here! See, check this out!

[ The video shows Rin excited... but anyone who hasn't seen him while his sword is drawn might be a little surprised. His fangs and ears are both longer, and he also has blue "horns" on his head made out of blue fire. He's also got a rather large demonic aura right now, but you can't sense that through the book. And once he steps back from the video, he's got elongated claws and the end of his tail has flames too.

He's set the book up against a boulder and he's clearly somewhere up in the mountains. He's shouting at the book so that it's more clear what he's doing. But first things first, he surrounds himself and his sword with some of his blue flames ]

Okay so I did work out how to control my flames a while back [for the most part... the barrier's given him some issues when it coms to very fine tuned things] and I can also do stuff like this!

[ And at this, pointing out a decent sized rock over here, he slices it with his flaming sword - and the sword slices the rock clean in half. While he does this he also lets out a bit of an echoing shout, to focus himself. In the aftermath, though, the rock does still seem to be on fire still (blue fire) oops. But either way!! ]

See? But now I worked out something else, so check this out.

[ And he steps back, pulls his sword back, and focuses. The camera angle isn't great to see it, but in the distance there's several cans set up to stand on top of some big rock. And then he brings his sword in a downward arc and calls out: ]

Satan Slash!

[ And with that, a wave of blue fire which may or may not be semi-solid flies out from his sword (like so) and -- while he intends to knock over the cans alone the wave is too big and sends them flying back a bit. But they are not lit on fire, nor was anything else.

Either way, he turns back to the camera, grinning ]

So uh, sorry for bein' out in the mountains for a while now, but I pulled this off! I'll try no to bring any bears back to town, and I'll be back soon.

It must feel good to get down if you've been working on it a lot then. I know when I put together new artes I feel pretty great about it.

Yeah, it's actually pretty awesome! ... What's an arte though?

... You don't know? [He knows not all worlds have them, but that move there did look pretty arte like. And sounded like it too, what with the name calling. But oh well.] They're moves like what you did there that can help you out in a fight. I've never seen anything like Satan Slash, but I know an arte that's sort of like it.

Oh! So they're like big battle technique things you see people doing all the time!! That's a pretty cool name.

Yeah, like that! I know lots of places have different names for them, but that's what I know them as. Oh, and stuff like magic is called precepts where I'm from.

Aw, okay, that makes sense now. Yeah Shura told me I should try to pick out a name for special attacks so that I can remember the attack better in my head by shouting it out. That sort of thing - I guess that's why she names stuff she did with her sword.

That's a good way of making sure you remember your attacks, then when you've used the attack enough you won't have to shout it out or anything to remember what you're doing. It sounds like Shura was a pretty good teacher.

Yeah, she is! She's scary, but she's also pretty good, yeah!

She must'nt have been that scary if you managed to learn a thing or two from her. Otherwise how would you have been able to learn anything from her if she was scaring you all the time?

N...nah man she was pretty scary. S'why I got that ring on my tail, and I was pretty sure she was gonna kill me when we first met.

How does that work? She was gonna kill you, but then she gave you a ring and taught you some stuff about how to fight. Am I missing something?

Uh well, it's sort of complicated and she knew my dad, so...

[ How does he explain this without the Satan thing. He can't, really, he guesses... ]

Oh, uh, right. [...] So it's kind of like a family sort of thing then.

[He doesn't want to pry if Rin doesn't want to go into talking about his dad or anything, so he assumes he's on the right track with the family comment and leaves it there.]

Yeah, kinda. My old man was the one who trained here, apparently and she figured she was responsible for helping me out, but had to test me. Like I said, she's kinda scary.

It sounds more kind than scary when you say that, its like she was just passing on what your dad taught her. [...] Unless she tested you by trying to kill you like you said before, then I would get it.

Well I don't think she would actually kill me...?

Well she definitely wouldn't now but he's less sure about that first time, and his itches his head sheepishly ]

You really don't sound sure about that... I don't think she would be much of a teacher if she really did want to kill you anyway.

[Somehow he just doesn't thinking wanting someone dead is a good way to teach them anything!]

Yeah, that's true. Anyway, she's the one who thought me to name techniques... and it just sounds cooler.

I dunno, it doesn't sound any cooler than Demon Fang... And they're kind of the same, except Demon Fang goes along the ground and yours goes through the air. [And the blue fire. That's different too.]

But mines one of those... things with two similar sounds in then words. [ Alliteration. But he can't think of it. ... Demon Fang is totally cool tho ]

... I think I know what you're talking about. [Heck if he knows what the word is either though.] I've got a different arte that's like that, Double Demon Fang!

[Which is absolutely and totally different from Demon Fang]

Is that really that different than the normal Demon Fang though?

Sure it is, it's twice as strong as Demon Fang! It's harder to avoid and you can hit more targets with it than just Demon Fang on its own.

Oh, so you do more than just shoot two of them?!

[NOT REALLY, NO.] ... The second one is stronger than the first. [SEE there are more differences other than just doing the same thing twice in a row!]
