[ It's Christmas Eve. ... It's Christmas Eve, he's living with two girls, has an ambiguous relationship with another girl entirely. It's been a long and weird year and his birthday is coming up. Honestly, he didn't want to have his birthday come again here and again end up older than Yukio... but Shiemi said they would do a party.

With that and his plan for Christmas Gifts in mind, Rin needs to go shopping before anything today, picking up large quantities of ingredients at the Grocery and the Bakery and even a little bit at the Convenience Store. In the midst of this, he's also on the look out for any of his friends so that he can invite them to his birthday party and maybe do a little bit of inquiry about what they might want to eat. ]

[ Voice - Later ]

[ Later, when he is cooking and baking... ]

Hey! So, any of my friends out there.... my birthday's on the 27th, and Shiemi decided that she wanted to throw me a birthday party. So if any of ya' wanna have some fun after Christmas or have a nicer dinner or something, why don't you show up for it?

Yeah, me and Yukio- [ He mood darkens a bit, but. He pushes past that with-] Yeah! ... Now I feel kinda' bad, I was gonna invite you to a party Shiemi is throwin' me for my birthday, but you might have plans yourself.

I have no plans. [And then she remembers something.]

I know that Saori-neesan was talking about a small dinner. There were no concrete plans made otherwise. [She's not a large party type of person, you know?]

Then how abouts you come to my party? At least for a little while, anyway.

[ Speaking of she did say they didn't have icing... it's not like he can't make it himself, but it would save him time And he should confirm what he favorite food is too ]

I...If it would not an inconvenience to anyone, I would like to come to your party.

Is there anything I should bring with me?

No, you don't need to bring anything if you don't want. And you're not inconveniencing anyone. I mean, we're inviting people... so.

[Something about that isn't as pleasing as she hoped it would be. Instead, she merely nods as she tries to formulate and answer.

She wants to get him a gift. But, perhaps she can make it and it wouldn't take too long. Maybe she could close down the bakery a little early so she can go home to do so. Hm.]

[ He smiles, and turns to leave... ]

[ But then realized he forgot... ]

--Oh, wait. I still need that icing.

[She shakes her head a little at his behaviour. Of course. She puts down the icing spoon.]

If you can give me a few moments, I will have the icing ready.

Alright, sure thing!

[ and so as to not bug her or whatever, he makes his way to one of the tables in here to sit and wait it out. It won't be long, he knows ]

[Really, mixing icing was probably the easiest and most mindless thing Hinata could possibly think of to do. In less than five minutes, she has an acceptable batch for a decent sized cake. There's no coloring in it, of course, because she's not sure what color Rin would even want.

But, it's done and it takes a minute or two longer to put it into a container that he can carry home.]

I have it here, Rin-kun. [Then a sudden thought occurs to her and she blinks before giving voice to it.] What time is the party?

[ He'd been sort of hanging out. Waiting. But... ]

Uh... probably early afternoon. Thanks though.

[ But... yeah ]

[To be honest, she didn't want him to leave, but she couldn't think of a way to prolong his visit without it getting awkward. She's not really a small talk kind of girl.]

Yes, of course. Is there...is there anything else I can do for you?

Oh, no. I'm gonna be baking and cooking some stuff when I get home--- oh!

What's your favorite food?

My...favorite food? [She blushes a bit before answering.

C-cinnamon rolls and zenzai...

Eeheheh, you like sweet things, then!

Y-yes...

[Although, to be honest, she likes zenzai more because of Naruto-kun.]

Alright, thanks for tellin' me. [ ... You know that means he might need some more dough... ] Then I could use some flour too, do you got spare in here?

[She starts a bit at his question before going into the back room to return with a fairly adequate-sized bag of flour.]

[She'll just get more from the general store later.]

Awesome. [ Well he's waiting for the icing too. But he takes it and nods with a smile. She's really in the ball here ] Thanks.

[Since he still hasn't taken the icing, she pushes the container in his direction.]

[ Oh - he takes it too. And: ] Yep! I'll be lookin forward to seeing you there!

[ And... he doesn't have much more to do here, so maybe he should just go. Yes, he will. He'll bring her his gift-food tomorrow ]
