Well, I decided that we could run this special chocolate cake thing, with a hint of cinnamon flavoring - and that turned out pretty good, even if the robot kept cutting int little hearts for it. [ He smiles though, even if the robot is rude, it's not incompetent. ] The Boss was in favor for it, given, y'know, what day it is.

That sounds very tasty. [Especially considering her favorite foods consist of things with cinnamon in them.] Hearts? Why? [She missed Valentine's Day last year, Rin. Might want to inform her of it.]

'Cus it's Valentines today?

[ Did she forget??? ]

It is? [She blinks curiously.] We don't have that back home and I don't really remember hearing about this holiday last year.

[ Wait, wait you - ] You didn't?! You don't, really?! So this is some kinda... [ He searches for the word "coincidence" and comes up with - ] Confiding thing?! [ He bursts out into a little laugh, genuinely amused at it. He grins.

She asked him out on a date today of all things... ] S'holiday for people in love and stuff back home.

Confiding? Is this something that I should be telling only you then, Rin-kun? [Confusing statement is confusing.]

I was unaware that there was a relevance to today. You do not mind spending time with me then? [Not that she's going to let him back out now, but it's best to double check.]

Well, I mean. We're dating, so we're supposed to be together today? I mean, you'd also make chocolate back home?

[She smiles happily.]

Then I suppose it is good fortune that I made chocolate chip cookies for dessert. [Hinata heads towards the door, ready to head over to show him her surprise.] Tell me more about Valentine's Day, Rin-kun.

[ Oka, so let's get walking now, with his jacket on, out the door and to the wild blue yonder. But... okay. He nods and, ]

But sure - I mean... Okay, so back home, girls give out chocolate to people they like? Like you also tends to go on dates with people too...

[She directs their feet towards the Battle Dome, hoping that he will sincerely like seeing what springtime in Konoha looks like. A part of it is because she's homesick and another part is because she really wishes she could show him in person. A simulation will have to do.]

And they only give out chocolates? Is there anything else that is appropriate for today, aside from chocolates and dates? And do only the women do this?

...Well yeah, I mean, guys are s'pposed to repay that in March - March 14th. [ That's... what the plan is, he's pretty sure. ]

But honestly, I never had girls that liked me.

[ Haha? Ha... ]

Hm, so there is a special day for both sexes. Is that the same everywhere?

[His admission makes her blink and stop mid-step.]

Not really, no. I mean, here, they do... weird experiment stuff. Or they did most other years, but s'not like that counts, you know?

[ ... Was that confusing for her? The same everywhere? why did they stop? ]

So, you have only had female attention since you arrived here in Luceti? [She's not sure if she's jealous or relived. Maybe both, but she's not showing it. Yay for some emotional control.]

But you do not considering them as legitimate feelings. You said as much to me in November.

Of course I didn't! [ That... that's like obvious, isn't it? Well, Hinata liked him, so maybe it wasn't. He resists his urge to laugh, instead just shaking his head

But yeah, I didn't ... really have much of anything goin' on until those Malnosso [ Which, he reminds himself, she doesn't remember ] Started to mess with people's feelings. That... I mean, that can't be what people are genuinely feeling, is it?
