Yeah, probably- uh... sorry about that.

...Okay, um.

[This is supposed to be a big deal, isn't it? Does it matter if it's with someone she doesn't care about, er... "like that"?]

So... does it have to be on the lips? I've never kissed a guy before.

[rashness]

I-! ... I don't know, actually. We should probably just try to have it not on the lips.

[ BECAUSE FIRST KISS he doesn't think to figure she means she kissed a girl IS A BIG THING. And he sihs at this, feeling like a jackass. And mortified all at once ]

[scootch]

...Cheek? I'm okay with cheek. Or hand.

[Whatever's fine. Lip kisses are just... special.]

Let's try hand... uh. Give me you hand. [ He holds out for it. He look sheepish and apologetic here because. Well. Yeah.

[scootch]

[She sets her hand in his, looking just as awkward about it, shifting nervously. It's just a hand, no big deal. But it's still weird because she doesn't know him.]

[ OKAY.

so he just goes in and tries kissing her on the knuckle, because that's less intimate than kissing her on the lips. But now he's actually done it, the whole knightly vibe of it feels more intimate than a cheek kiss would have been. Well whatever hopefully this just works ]

[scootch]

[Apparently she gets much the same impression, breaking into a shy, nervous giggle.]

Um- okay, rise, Sir Demontail.

[ Crap, she got the same impression ]

[ Okay so he just needs to look cool... and confident... and not look lame...

So he stands, looking like this as he tries to look cool and confident ]

Okay then.

rin looks vaguely psychotic there

[scootch]

[Is he smiling or about to eat her? Suddenly realizing how close both the mistletoe and the knightly-kiss had gotten them, she steps back uncertainly... and doesn't stop before she's out of range of the sprig. Huh.]

Oh wow, I guess that did it. We can move!

[ Nailed it. And then his face relaxes, he steps out too, and relents into a much more awkward expression ]

Yeah, we did! That was a good plan!

[scootch]

[She grins and holds her hand up.]

High-five! And I'm Ellie, by the way.

[rashness]

[ And he meets the high five, trying to hold back his strength so as to not make it a problem. But oh well, he grins and his tail wags some to go with it ]

N' I'm Rin. Sorry we had to meet like this.

[scootch]

I'm not. Now that it's over, it's kind of funny.

[rashness]

A...ahah. Yeah, I guess so.

[scootch]

For what it's worth, I'm sorry for the trouble, too. I should probably get better at helping myself with these stupid things before I try to help anyone else.

No, no! I'm the one that got stuck and really... no one should have to deal with these.

[scootch]

No argument here. But they're here, and we have to, so whatever. It's not the worst that could happen.

[There could be zombies! Monsters! But there are not, so she's rolling with it.]

[rashness]

Nah, I guess it ain't. It's sort of insulting, though.

[ And he sighs ] I'd have taken it out if I knew I could manage my flames better, anyway. [And he puts his hands in his pockets again at this, averting his gaze a little. Just a little shame. A little ]

[scootch]

[The shame doesn't go unnoticed, but Ellie's more interested in the cause of it- or rather, the subject mentioned.]

Your... flames? is that a demon thing?

[Demons are all about rawr-hellfire-burn-it-all-down or something, right? She remembers some weird "Bible-thumpers" showing up here and there in the quarantine zone, ranting about sins and salvation and the devil and whatnot, although they never lasted long. People with limited resources had limited patience to go along with it, and no one wanted to hear that they'll go to hell when an infected finally eats their face off.]

[rashness]

Oh uh... sort of. Well, yes - but not all demons have it. [ How does he explain this without bringing up Satan... he still could bring up Satan but that's just sort of awkward. He falters a little, and then he closes his eyes. Inhales, exhales, and the, wills some flames (blue ones) into existence on his shoulder. Just a little tiny candle bit ]

But it's a power I've got.

[scootch]

[She can't help but stare, even if it is small, because it's probably one of the coolest things she's ever seen.]

Whoa. You just made that out of nothing...!

[rashness]

Yeah! I think! I don't know where it comes from, actually!

[ Someone might have tried to explain it to him before but he doesn't remember it.. ]

[scootch]

That kind of makes it even cooler. Mysterious powers you can't explain? That's awesome.
