Oh, just that you seemed kinda out of it. [Sheepishly, following the handshake. ] I guess that's butting in, though.

No, it's-- accurate. [He frowns as he admits as much; usually there would be no need to answer like that. But if the version of himself he was supposed to be acting like was generally more open, he had to at least attempt the personality.

He takes a second to come up with an explanation.] I haven't been on a bus around the city for awhile. [It wasn't a total lie.] So this is a change of pace.

Oh, yeah. That makes sense. [Nod. Just a bit of a nod] So where're you going?

[He shakes his head, glancing out the window as the bus starts moving again.]

Just around. Perhaps the town hall and library. [...] I suppose it may be busy with everything going on. [The strikes would likely be affecting business around the town hall.]
